A site like Reddit, but in Afrikaans

Edit March 2011: the site has changed a bit - see this post for details.

Hey, it looks like there's a site like Reddit in Afrikaans (or like Digg but without all the excess coding and whatnot) called Blik.co.za. I've noticed that every once in a while on Reddit people will submit articles in other languages but since most people there only know English these other articles never get voted up, which means there's not really much point in submitting in any other language besides English. This means that there's a lot of room for other sites in other languages, and you can see it in Persian for example with Balatarin (بالاترین) and Donbaleh (دنباله).

It's no surprise then that there's a social news website in Afrikaans as well. It's easy to register except for one part in Afrikaans that I had to answer to prove that I wasn't a robot:

As die son ondergaan in die weste is die luiaard op sy [answer here].

Hm... As the sun goes in the west is the (check word...ah, luiaard means a lazy person) lazy person at his....hmm...

bed?

Nope.

Checking Google gave the answer though: beste (English best). Ah, when the sun is in the west the lazy person is at his best. That makes sense. Now I'm not a spambot.

If you know or are studying Afrikaans, you might want to register as well and help the site get a bit more activity. Given the much smaller extent of the language it's no surprise that it's nowhere near as active as Reddit, but it still serves a good function in introducing news or links that might not be available in English.

Thanks for the mention. I intend to add some more categories, one of them should be about language diversity and language rights. (not sure what exactly to call it yet).
As for the relatively low amount of activity, the major reason in my view is the lack of promotion knowhow and effort on my part.
