I don't agree with Ahmadinejad on this - I expect that the huge increase of aid from both sides will simply result in a mostly stable frozen conflict and later on a situation like in Cyprus given that Russia clearly doesn't want any more from Georgia than the two breakaway regions and NATO certainly isn't willing to go to war with Russia over something that small either.

İran Cumhurbaşkanı Mahmud Ahmedinejad, Kafkasya ülkelerinin NATO'ya ihtiyacının olmadığını, NATO'nun bölgeye müdahalesinin sorunu daha da kötüleştireceğini söyledi. Ahmedinejad, Ermenistan Dışişleri Bakanı Edward Nalbantyan'ı kabulü sırasında yaptığı konuşmada, "Bölge ülkeleri, el ele vererek kendi sorunlarını çözebilir. Bu konuda NATO'nun ve diğerlerinin müdahalesine ihtiyaç yok" dedi. "Dış güçlerin müdahalesinin durumu daha da kötüleştirdiği tecrübelerle sabittir" diyen Ahmedinejad, NATO ve Gürcistan arasında olası bir askeri paktın, Kafkasya'daki tansiyonu yükselteceğini savundu. Tek kutuplu dünya düzeninin yolun sonuna geldiğini ifade eden Ahmedinejad, dostluk ve barış temelleri üzerine kurulu yeni bir düzen için çaba gösterilmesi gerektiğini belirtti.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (محمود احمدی‌نژاد) said that the Caucasus nations have no need for NATO, and that NATO would further worsen the problem of intervention in the region. Ahmadinejad gave a talk while receiving Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbantian, saying that "Nations in the region can solve their own problems hand in hand. There's no need for intervention by NATO or others." He maintained that a probable military pact between NATO and Georgia would increase tensions in the Caucasus, saying that "It's established through experience that intervention of foreign powers further worsens the situation." Ahmadinejad stated that a single-poled world order had reached its end, saying that a need for effort towards a new order based on friendship and peace needed to be shown.

Ahmedinejad, Tahran-Erivan ilişkilerinin iyi ve sağlam olduğunu, bunun örnek teşkil edebileceğini ifade etti.

Ahmadinejad said that relations between Tehran and Yerevan were good and healthy, and that this could form a good example.

Konuk Bakan Nalbantyan da iki ülke arasındaki siyasi ve ekonomik ilişkilerin daha da geliştirilmesini istedi.

The visiting minister Nalbantian also said that he hoped for further developments between the two nations in political and economic relations.
