Türkçe Öğreniyorum ("I'm learning Turkish") from TRT

Türkçe Öğreniyorum (I'm learning Turkish) is the name of a podcast from TRT Radio that seems to be aimed at Turks and Turkic people in other countries aimed at giving them a good command of standard Turkish. It's a great podcast, as far as I know the only one of its kind that explains everything in 100% slow and clear Turkish. That makes it quite easy to transcribe and I think I'm going to append explanations in Japanese and Korean since the word order is the same and those two languages don't have quite enough Turkish learning material online just now. I might do it in English too. I'm still thinking over the format but in the meantime I'll put the content of the first podcast in this post. Here is the page with links to the other podcasts.

(Edit: The link to the mp3 was removed so I've uploaded it to YouTube here)

And now the content:

A: Bu kitap senin mi?
B: Evet. Bu kitap benim.
B: Hayır. Bu kitap benim değil. Arkadaşımın.

A: Şu gelen senin amcan mı?
B: Evet. O benim amcam.
B: Hayır. O benim amcam değil.

A: Her gün kitap okuyor musun?
B: Evet. Her gün mutlaka kitap okuyorum.
A: Hayır. Bazen okuyamıyorum.

A: Bugün Hakan'ı gördün mü?
B: Hayır. Hiç görmedim.

Şimdi yapacağımız konuşmayı soru edatlarının kullanımına dikkat ederek dinleyeniz.

Bir telefon konuşması.

A: Ahmet Bey ile görüşebilir miyim?
B: Ahmet Bey mi?
A: Orası Ahmet Bey'in evi değil mi?
B: Hayır. Ahmet Bey'in evi değil.
A: Telefon numarınız sekiz yüz otuz iki yirmi otuz dört mü?
B: Hayır. Değil.
A: Özür dilerim. Numarayı yanlış çevirdim. İyi günler.
B: İyi günler.

A: Bu kitap mı?
B: Evet. Kitap.
A: Şu çiçek mi?
B: Hayır. O çiçek değil. Ağaç.
A: Bu pantolon mu?
B: Evet. Pantolon.
A: Şu silgi mi?
B: Evet. O silgi.
A: Bu gazete mi?
B: Hayır. O gazete değil. Dergi.

A: Affedersiniz. Ahmet Bey ile görüşmek istiyorum.
B: Ahmet Bey mi dediniz?
A: Evet.
B: Türkçe öğretmeni olan Ahmet Bey mi?
A: Evet. Türkçe öğretmeni.
B: Kıvırcık saçlı, değil mi?
A: Evet. Kıvırcık saçlı.
B: Orta boylu, değil mi?
A: Evet. Orta boylu.
B: Gözleri yeşil renkli, değil mi?
A: Tam yeşil değil. Ela galiba.
B: Evet. Olabilir. Hafif kiloluydu, değil mi?
A: Evet. Zayıf değil. Biraz kilolu.

A: Ahmet Bey gözlüklüydü, değil mi?
B: Evet. Gözlüklü.
A: Sarı saçlı, değil mi?
B: Hayır. Sarı saçlı değil. Siyah saçlı.
A: Uzun boylu, değil mi?
B: Evet. Uzun boylu.
A: İki çoçuğu var, değil mi?
B: Hayır. Bir kızı var.
A: Özür dilerim. Şizin bahsettiğiniz Ahmet Bey benim tanıdığım Ahmet Bey değil. Size yardımcı olamayacağım. İyi günler.
B: İyi günler.

Şimdi de aşağıdaki metni soru edatlarının kullanımına dikkat ederek dinleyiniz.

Selin'in kedisi.

Selin'in ayaklarını seviyor. Sık sık Selin'in ayaklarının arasında uyuyor. Selin bu durumdan hiç şikayetçi değil. Çok memnun. Çünkü kışın Selin'in ayakları hiç üşümüyor. Ama yazın Selin kedi istemiyor. Çünkü hava çok sıcak. Peki, sizin kediniz var mı? Varsa, siz kedinizden memnun musunuz? Sizi duyar gibi. Yoksa siz Selin gibi kedinizden memnun değil misiniz? Sizlere bol kedili günler.

Türkçe öğreniyorum.

It was very good of you to transcribe the content of the first podcast of Türkçe Öğrenıyorum. Unfortunately the link to the audio doesn't work any more. It was removed from the page that now starts from the 4° podcast. It would be just great if you could transcribe the following podcasts as well. I am trying to learn Turkish and as you are well aware of, there are very few resources available in the net. These podcasts would be ideal, but with no transcripts they are just useless for a foreigner struggling with the Turkish language. Thank you again

Hm, that is strange that they removed the link. I've uploaded this one to YouTube then so that we won't have this problem again.

I will be transcribing another one soon. Some are over 10 minutes and some are under, so I think I'll stick with the ones under 10 minutes so that I'll be able to put them up on YouTube so as to guarantee that people will be able to hear them.

Thanks for your interest.

Harika! I am so glad you could retrieve the audio, now your effort won't have been in vain...
Looking forward to the other transcriptions you promised.
Thank you, thank you, thank you

Hey Mith, it's Atkinson from Galbijim. Found your site by coincidence searching for podcast learning Turkish. The irony of your chosing YouTube to make it permanent, is that YouTube is banned in Turkey because Richard Dawkins posted a video there about God not existing, or something. Now you need a VPN tool like Hotspot Shield running to access it, and most people don't. Is there another video sharing site these could be uploaded to?

Are there other mp3s in the series, or is this the only one?

I uploaded those six but the rest seem to have disappeared from the site after its reorganization, which is a real pity. Should have downloaded them all when I had the chance. I even emailed them about it but no response.

Şimdi Türkiye'desin galiba? Ben de gitmek istiyorum. Türkçe nasıl bir şekilde öğreniyorsun?

I have most of the Türkçe Ögreniyorum podcasts.

Unfortunately I lacked an internet connection when the site was reorganised.
Listening to #87, it obviously isn't the last.

The podcasts are at www.c7dan.efhbroadband.net temporarily.

Thanks for the transcripts. There are a few words I don't think I'd ever have guessed.

Haydi iyi dersler.

The hosting of the podcasts will end soon - I recently cancelled my broadband contract.

If there is still interest I can start looking for alternative arrangements.

Hey Atkinson,

YouTube was banned in Turkey because of the videos that insult Atatürk and Turkish values, not because a video said god does not exist. They would have banned the books of Dawkins if that was true, but you can find his books easily.

Please do not talk about stuff that you don't know. And please don't get offended, I just wanted to correct this enormous mistake as a Turkish citizen.

Türkçe öğrenmeye çalışan herkese bol şans!
