Bemoaning the lack of German in French schools

A post here in French does just that. Not just the fact that German is only studied by 22% of French students, but that it is often not studied in favour of other languages that are popular at the moment (Chinese, Japanese, Arabic) but that are rarely ever mastered in the few years a student has to study them.
