Eton Institute in Dubai to have lessons in Afrikaans on Twitter during the World Cup

Thursday, June 10, 2010

I've never heard of the Eton Institute before a Google Alert yesterday told me about it, but they're a language school in Dubai that teaches a variety of languages. Their home page advertises a bazillion of them but placement tests are available for Arabic, English, Persian, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish, so we can assume those are the main ones taught there.

Anyway, during the World Cup they will have short Afrikaans lessons on their Twitter page here. On Twitter it's impossible to go into any great detail (unless you write in Japanese/Chinese/Korean/etc.) but may be worth checking out. Native Afrikaans speakers should also keep an eye on it to make sure it's accurate.
