French language school registration up 9% over the year in Edmonton and Northern Alberta

The North Central School Council (Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord) says it has hired and will hire more teachers to respond to the growth of its student population which has increased by 9% compared to last year. 
In a statement released Friday, the council said that there it has 2800 students this year, thanks to an influx of families in Alberta and in French schools. The number of new teachers hired is seven - six in Edmonton, one in Fort McMurray.
