Danny DeVito recorded The Lorax in five languages

Friday, July 06, 2012

Found this in German today: for the new movie The Lorax, Danny DeVito has recorded the voice for not just English but four other languages: Italian, Spanish, German and Russian. Apparently Italian was the easiest for him (his grandparents are Italian), I assume Spanish was next easiest, and he said German was quite hard but Russian was like climbing Mount Everest.

We'll find out soon enough how well he recorded the last two. This isn't the first time such a thing has happened though: Phil Collins sang in a few languages (English, Spanish, Italian and French I think) for Disney's Tarzan. Here are two of them:

Nice r pronunciation there at 1:30 (forêt).
