Second launch of Korea's Naro rocket today

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

It's just past midnight here in Korea, and seventeen hours from now the second launch of Korea's Naro rocket (image here) will happen. The last one (ten months ago) was a near success but the satellite wasn't placed into a proper orbit and fell to earth quite quickly, so we'll be able to see whether they will be able to improve on the second launch and hopefully obtain their first 100% success.

Depending on what I'm doing at the time (hopefully I'll be able to get the kitten we found today taken care of at the vet during the afternoon while I work) I may liveblog the launch. Weatherwise everything is perfect - high 20s and low 30s, no rain, very low winds.
