Portuguese version of Twitter expected to come out next year (2010)

Tuesday, October 06, 2009

Twitter is different from a lot of popular online services in that though it's used by a large number of people in just about every language it still doesn't have an interface for any language but English and Japanese. This actually makes sense considering that the only function on Twitter is the sending of 140-character messages, and the only real technical skill to acquire is how to use the @ and # symbols.

Nevertheless, it will eventually be translated into other languages. Portuguese is the second-most used language on Twitter, and according to this article a Portuguese language version will be coming out in the beginning of 2010, so in just a few months from now.
