9 September: Just saw the International Space Station and Space Shuttle fly overhead

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

The ISS and the Space Shuttle just flew over Seoul in a flyby lasting a full five minutes, with a perfectly clear sky. I have no pictures to show for it but I do have the next best thing for you - this link which will tell you when you'll be able to see the same thing, this photograph taken by someone else after the Shuttle had separated, and Spaceweather.com which is the best place to go to for these photographs. Nevertheless, seeing it in person is much better than a photograph, even if it just looks like a bright spot in the sky.

The Space Shuttle has just separated from the ISS and is flying ahead (I assume that was the Shuttle as it was a tad darker), still following the same path. These are the sightings from Seoul this week, and the one I just saw is in bold.
