6 August 2009: The Daily Show on Iran's fake election and inauguration

The Daily Show had its first Iran piece in a while yesterday. There's one thing to note at the end that I'll write below but don't read it yet if you don't like your comedy being spoiled at all.

Now for the note at the end - most know this but just in case. Robert Gibbs did retract that statement the day after he said it (which is a good thing), going back to the tried and tested line that the administration isn't making any judgments on just what Ahmadinejad is, but in the meantime it looks like he's been inaugurated and that's the reality they're dealing with. But no congratulations.
In other news, the regime was forced to bring in stars to replace politicians at Ahmadinejad's swearing-in because there were too many empty seats.
