The centre of Gudauta, one of the locations for the Russian military bases. Wikipedia provides the following on Gudauta: "At a summit of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), in Istanbul in 1999, Russia agreed to shut down its base at Gudauta and to withdraw troops and equipment, pledging that henceforth it would be for the sole use of the CIS peacekeepers ("rehabilitation centre for peacekeeping troops”). However, Abkhaz authorities block OSCE inspection visits and no date is set for withdrawal from the base. Georgia still alleges that it is used to offer military support to the Abkhaz secessionists. The Gudauta base remains one of the main problems in complicated Russian-Georgian relations."

Here's some news from nrk.no yesterday in Norwegian on the military bases to be established in Abkhazia and South Ossetia by Russia.

Russians establish military bases
The authorities in the Georgian breakaway republic South Ossetia and Russia are signing on Tuesday an agreement on establishment of Russian military bases in South Ossetia
Det bekrefter nestleder i det sør-ossetinske parlamentet, Tarzan Kokoiti overfor internasjonale journalister.
This is confirmed by the deputy in the South Ossetian Parliament, Tarzan Kokoiti, to international journalists.

- Avtalen blir skrevet under 2. September, sier han.
- The agreement will be written on the 2th of September, he said.
Baser også i Abkhasia
Bases also in Abkhazia
The bases in Abkhazia will be located in the cities of Gudauta (Abkhaz: Гəдоуҭа, Gwdowtha; Georgian: გუდაუთა; Russian: Гудаута) and Ochamchira (Abkhaz: Очамчыра, Ochamchyra; Georgian: ოჩამჩირე; Russian: Очамчира) in Abkhazia and Dzhave in South Ossetia.
Dzhave i Sør-Ossetia vil bli base for landstridskreftene.
These places had former Soviet military bases and have there an infrastructure that they can put to use again. In Guduata there is an airport, while Ochamchira is located on the Black Sea coast and has a port to house parts of Russia's Black Sea fleet. Dzhave in South Ossetia will be a base for the ground forces.
Bryter diplomatiske forbindelser
Breaking diplomatic relations
Parliament in Georgia decided Thursday to give the administration full authority to break all diplomatic relations with Russia, and terminate the agreements on the deployment of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the two breakaway republics.
But the Russians will also establish bases in Abkhazia. This is confirmed by an anonymous source in the Russian military diplomacy to the news bureau Interfax.
