Hyundai Kia moves English to second interview, likes proficiency in other languages too

Thursday, September 06, 2012

An article here in Korean goes over some of the hiring practices for Hyundai as it gears up to hire another few thousand employees this year. English proficiency is a given but a few things have changed that are worth noting.

Hyundai Motors is looking for 3430 employees the second half of this year, 540 fewer than the 3970 last year.

One difference in the interviews done this year is that the English test has been moved from the first interview to the second, in order to give applicants a better opportunity to focus on core and job competencies.

Applicants with proficiency in various languages such as Chinese, Portuguese and Russian are rated highly by the company.
