Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Universele Verklaring van Menseregte) in Afrikaans uploaded to YouTube

Sunday, May 02, 2010

One more LibriVox post for today: in addition to the one entry for Latvian, there are also a few for Afrikaans from which the best one for a student (unless you like poetry) is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I downloaded the mp3 and turned it into two YouTube videos. The neutral tone, lack of background noise and the text make it into a good example for anyone who wants to hear the language for the first time.

The text comes from here, and since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been translated into more languages than any other document it's certainly available in your mother tongue for comparison as well.
