Porche deserves a big hand for the creation of this new model:
It's a hybrid car called the Porche 918 Spyder Hybrid that also happens to be blindingly fast (0 to 100 in under 3.2 seconds) and a design no less impressive than any other model. Apparently they aren't saying whether it will go into production but if it does it'll be a perfect example to refer to whenever hybrids are painted as being dorky or weak in a discussion. Tesla's roadster also does a good job on the purely electric side here.
The way this car works (small distance on electricity alone followed by a gas-powered engine) is similar to the Chevrolet Volt.
