India ups its space budget by 38% for 2010

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Thank you India. India announced today that the budget for the Indian Space Research Organization would be increased by 38%, reaching the equivalent of about $1.25 billion. Just last year as well it received a similar raise (40%), and the success of Chandrayaan last year (thanks to which we now know about the process in which water is created on the soil on the Moon) is a nice example to point to of what happens when a country like India makes the decision to be a serious player in space.
