More interviews with Paul Frommer on the Na'vi language and working on Avatar

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Two more interviews here and here with Paul Frommer for those that are interested.

His most recent message in the Na'vi language has now been translated into French, German, Polish, Russian and Portuguese so far. The first sentence for example:

Ayeylanur oeyä sì eylanur lì'fyayä leNa'vi nìwotx

is À tous mes amis et amis de la langue Na'vi: / An all meine Freunde und an die Freunde der Na’vi-Sprache / Do moich wszystkich przyjaciół oraz do uczących się języka Na'Vi / Для всех моих друзей изучающих язык На'ви. The Portuguese translation doesn't include that first sentence for some reason. If all the copyright problems are resolved and a grammar is finally able to be released, it will be interesting to see if one day we will see the emergence of a group of people that are more proficient in Na'vi than any other language they could choose to communicate with.

I am sorry, I still refuse to dress up, whether for Klingon or Na'vi as the new global language.

Especially when they're both difficult to learn !

Don't let us keep playing around, when Esperanto is seriously available. New developments http://eurotalk.com/en/store/learn/esperanto
