Euronews now available in Turkish

Saturday, January 30, 2010

At long last, Euronews is finally available in Turkish. This article says that it will begin tomorrow but their site already has Turkish as an option. You can see one of their videos here, with Tony Blair being questioned on the invasion of Iraq today. The video isn't exactly the same as the article below but is largely the same, so it's not as helpful as it could be but still quite a good resource for a student of the language. Also don't forget that selecting a different language at the top will take you to the equivalent of the same article in the other language and not just the main page, so there is always that option if understanding the gist of an article is too difficult.

The next language for Euronews will be Persian, probably near the end of 2010 but the exact date is yet to be set. The starting date for Turkish was also a bit fuzzy until just a week before.

Edit: I just took a look at this interview and the text and dialogue are nearly identical, so looks like some of these are almost ideal for a student learning Turkish.
