Uzbekistan to invest an extra $2.6 billion by 2015 in Silk Road connecting it with Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan

Uzbekistan is landlocked but is the only country in Central Asia that is connected to every other 'stan - Kazakhstan on the north, Kyrgyzstan on the east, Tajikistan just south of Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan to the south, and Turkmenistan to the southwest.

Özbekistan, 2015 yılına kadar tarihi İpek Yolu'na önemli bir yatırım yapacak. Taşkent yönetimi, doğu-batı uzantısındaki yolun Özbekistan etabına 2 milyar 600 milyon dolarlık yeni bir yatırım yapmayı planlıyor.
Uzbekistan will make an important investment to the historic Silk Road by 2015. The administration in Tashkent plans to make a new $2.6 billion investment in the Uzbekistan stage of the east-west road.
Özbekistan, bu çerçevede İpek Yolu'nun önemli bir güzergahını oluşturan "Andican-Taşkent-Semerkand-Buhara" etabında önemli bir yenileme çalışması yapacak. İpek Yolu'nun Özbekistan güzergâhı, batıda Türkmenistan, doğuda Kırgızistan'a bağlanıyor. Bin 427 kilometre olacak olan yol "E-40" olarak adlandırılacak. Dört şeritli olacak olan yol, Çin ve Kırgızistan'dan gelen İpek Yolu'nu Türkmenistan'a bağlayacak.
For this Uzbekistan will work towards renewing the important "Andijan - Tashkent - Samarkand - Buhara" stage of the Silk Road. The Uzbek part of the Silk Road is linked with Turkmenistan on the west and Kyrgyzstan on the east. The 1,427 km road will be called the E-40. The road will have four lanes, and will connect the Silk Road from China and Kyrgyzstan to Turkmenistan.
Söz konusu güzergah üzerinde 18 büyük ve 600 de küçük boyda köprü ve viyadük yapılacak.
18 large and 600 small bridges and viaducts will be made for the route.
Yapımına bu yıl başlanması beklenen yolun 2015'e kadar tamamlanması bekleniyor. Yolun hizmete girmesiyle Özbekistan'ın uluslararası transit ulaşım potansiyelinin yüzde 50, yurt içi yük ve yolcu taşımacılığının da yüzde 60-70 oranında artması bekleniyor.
The road will start construction this year and is expected to be finished by 2015. When the road goes into service Uzbekistan's international transport potential will increase by 50%, and that of cargo and travel transportation within the country will increase by 60-70%.
