NASA receives funding increase; Kepler launching soon
Sunday, March 01, 2009

Two pieces of news on NASA:
1) Funding for NASA for this year's budget is going to be increased to $18.7 billion: "Provides $18.7 billion for NASA. Combined with the $1 billion provided to the agency in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, this represents a total increase of more than $2.4 billion over the 2008 level." I knew the McCain supporters on space.com were full of it when they claimed Obama wouldn't support funding for NASA as President.
2) Kepler is launching soon. Okay, I write about Kepler all the time, but the thing is, Kepler is launching soon. A mission that will find other Earths is launching soon. Exciting stuff.
