Capital moves from Almaty to Astana

Kazakistan yönetimi, 1997 yılında coğrafi özellikleri nedeniyle başkentini Almatı'dan Astana'ya taşıdı. Devlet Başkanı Nazarbayev'in 1997'de başkent ilan ettiği Astana'nın resmi tanıtımı ise 10 Haziran 1998'de, dönemin cumhurbaşkanı Süleyman Demirel'in de katıldığı törenlerle yapıldı.

The government of Kazakhstan moved its capital in 1997 from Almaty to Astana due to its geographic characteristics. President Nazarbayev declared Astana to be the capital in 1997, and there was an official presentation on June 10th 1998 where the Turkish president at the time Süleyman Demirel also participated.

Türk müteahhitlerin de katkılarıyla yeniden inşa edilen Astana'da, halen farklı sektörlerden bir çok Türk şirketinin yatırımı bulunuyor.

In Astana which was rebuilt with the participation of Turkish contractors as well, one can now find a large amount of investment from Turkish companies in a variety of sectors.
